Learn managment from a ticket collector

Hi guys today I would like to share an experience of my daily traveling. Daily I used to travel by a local bus to reach my office. From last five months daily I used to go in the same bus. Five months back there were two person who are handling the bus.A ticket collector and his assistant I used to call ticket collector (Prem) as a manager and the other one bus cleaner (Kanhiya) as assistant manager. So guys when I started traveling in the bus then the bus was full with the passangers I daily used to struggle to went in the same bus.Initially all goes very smooth with the manager. They earn very well profit in the morning trip as it is usual time people leaves home and travel for there work.
Now after few days I found that there were dispute started between Prem and Kanhiya. Kanhiya is now having a lil bit experience as he was working from last 8 months. He now started his own strategies which Prem don't like.
One day prem decided to leave his job as he finding difficulties workin with kanhiya he talked to his boss as now boss having another employ (Kanhiya) So he let Prem to go from his job. Now kanhiya stated working with his own system. He do not use to fill the diesel in the bus at the proper time. He don't take care of the bus.

I stopped to go in this bus as my office time was changed. Again after few days my time is again changed and I stared to go office by the same bus.

After few days I found that there is less traffic in the bus. I ask the reason then the assitant manager(Kanhiya) who is now a manager replied me that these days people usually do not travelling frequently. I said yes you are right. but in few days I found that the bus was not reaching the destination at the proper time also Kanhiya was very rude with the clients(passangers).

AHHH…. I got now why I do not found the rush in the bus.

One day Kanhiya ask me to change the bus because he is leaving his job from the current bus and will work on the another bus which comes next to the current one.

I said OK.

Now I started travelling by another bus.

After few days I catch my old bus and I was shocked because there is big rush in the bus. Bus was full of passengers. I took the ticket and the ticket collector was the same person (Prem). Now daily I found the same crowd in the bus.Now the bus reaches the destination at correct time which was the main priority of many of the client who used to travel because they have to reach office at right time.

So, guys its not the traffic which makes the boss in the profit but it was the managerial skill of Prem because of whom the passenger(clients) used to travel in the his bus.
Here I got the lesson that use your right skills to handle the client provide them what they need as in the above case TIME was the first priority. Present your pleasant personality in front of the client.

Here's I learn management skill from the ticket collector.

Time Management

Hi friends,
Today I recieaved a email which said :
Sent by Mr. Narayan Murthy to his employs. Here’s the mail is:

It's half past 8 in the office but the lights are still on...
PCs still running, coffee machines still buzzing...
And who's at work? Most of them ??? Take a closer look...
All or most specimens are ??
Something male species of the human race...
Look closer... again all or most of them are bachelors...
And why are they sitting late? Working hard? No way!!!
Any guesses???
Let's ask one of them...
Here's what he says.... "What's there 2 do after going home...Here we get to surf, AC, phone, food, coffee that is why I am working late...Importantly no bossssssss!!!!!!!!!!!"
This is the scene in most research centers and software companies and other off-shore offices.
Bachelors "Time-passing" during late hours in the office just bcoz they say they've nothing else to do...
Now what r the consequences...

"Working" (for the record only) late hours soon becomes part of the institute or company culture.

With bosses more than eager to provide support to those "working" late in the form of taxi vouchers, food vouchers and of course good feedback, (oh, he's a hard worker... goes home only to change..!!).
They aren't helping things too...
To hell with bosses who don't understand the difference between "sitting" late and "working" late!!!
Very soon, the boss start expecting all employees to put in extra working hours.
So, My dear Bachelors let me tell you, life changes when u get married and start having a family... office is no longer a priority, family is... and
That's when the problem starts... b'coz u start having commitments at home too.
For your boss, the earlier "hardworking" guy suddenly seems to become a "early leaver" even if u leave an hour after regular time... after doing the same amount of work.
People leaving on time after doing their tasks for the day are labelled as work-shirkers...
Girls who thankfully always (its changing nowadays... though) leave on time are labelled as "not up to it". All the while, the bachelors pat their own backs and carry on "working" not realizing that they r spoiling the work culture at their own place and never realize that they would have to regret at one point of time..
So what's the moral of the story??
* Very clear, LEAVE ON TIME!!!
* Never put in extra time " unless really needed "
* Don't stay back unnecessarily and spoil your company work culture which will in turn cause inconvenience to you and your colleagues.
There are hundred other things to do in the evening..
Learn music...
Learn a foreign language...
Try a sport... TT, cricket.........

Importantly, get a girl friend or boy friend, take him/her around town...
* And for heaven's sake, net cafe rates have dropped to an all-time low (plus, no fire-walls) and try cooking for a change.
Take a tip from the Smirnoff ad: *"Life's calling, where are you??"*
Please pass on this message to all those colleagues and please do it before leaving time, don't stay back till midnight to forward this!!!
IT'S A TYPICAL INDIAN MENTALITY THAT WORKING FOR LONG HOURS MEANS VERY HARD WORKING & 100% COMMITMENT ETC.
PEOPLE WHO REGULARLY SIT LATE IN THE OFFICE DON'T KNOW TO MANAGE THEIR TIME. SIMPLE !
Regards,
NARAYAN MURTHY.
I am not sure the mail is written by him but If the mail is written by him, then he is absolutely correct. I also seen that people in my office used to sit upto 11:00 PM. It makes me irritate, because until the senior don’t leave. I also can’t leave. There are lots of problems faced by the married and other people in the office because of this wrong mentally of bachelors employs. They used to live in hostels and flats away from there family so they spent time the office, so married people are helpless they also has to stay late in the office. It affects their family relationship. According to me FAMILY should be the first priority in anyone life. Its humble request from me for the guys who stay late In the office.
“Please guys develop habit to finish work on or before the time, Don’t stay late. Try to give time to your family. They are the most important assets in your life.”
For kind information of all I am still bachelor but if not important I never used to stay late at the office.
